Project Sponsor
The Project Sponsor is the senior management person who will be selected by the Organization to be responsible for the overall success of the project. The Project Sponsor may be the actual Process Owner, but this is not required. The Project Sponsor serves as the chairman of the Steering team and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the project.
Steering Team
The Steering team consists of members of senior management from each of the key are forming a part of the process to be redesigned. Their role is to:
- define the scope of the project
- establish specific improvement goals
- review and approve the Design Team outputs
- authorize the implementation of the changes to be made
- provide overall supervision and support for the Design Team
Design Team
The Design team is made up of a number of subject matter experts (SME's) for the process itself. These people should know the actual steps in the process and should be in a position to evaluate the current state, identify disconnects, redesign and implement changes to the process to obtain the goals set by the Steering Team. The number of team members will vary depending upon the scope and complexity of the process. Optimal size is from 8-12.
Project Leader
A fully trained BPI Facilitator from the client organization who will project manage and facilitate the BPI effort. The BPI Facilitator works with the sponsors and the Steering and Design Teams to:
- define the project
- conduct interviews
- perform current state analysis
- redesign the process
- develop measure
- identify roles and responsibilities
- plan implementation
- install the implementation changes
- produces all project documentation
